A.S.V.S Headline News "Not one goddamn nomination for a GSDA...you bastards!"

Nominees and Location Announced for GSDAs Preparations are already underway for the premier social event in ASVS; the Golden Stardestroyer Awards. The Ballots (leftover 2000 Presidential from Dade County Florida), have been sent out, and the chosen site to host the festival of Fanfics has finally been announced.

"Me-Big-Man-In-Charge," organizer Rob Dalton said at a press conference earlier, "This year we have chosen Riker's Island to host the ceremony. I feel it sets the proper mood. I,mean a room full of prison inmates is sure to liven things up. The island isolation should also help reduce collateral damage; suits are still being filed from last years event. Plus, there are two Level One Trauma centers within minutes of the site...so bonus!"

Guests attending the GSA will be given accommodations on the island itself in luxurious general population complete with a complimentary bar of soap. George Motchan Detention Center was originally opened in 1971 as the Correctional Institution for Women. It now has a capacity of 2,500. With the 1988 opening of the Rose M. Singer Center for women (where female nominees and attendees will be housed) GMDC became a male detention center. Event Coordinator Chuck Sonnenburg elaborates, "Staying on the island helps the attendees get into the spirit of the event.

Many denizens planning to the attend were perplexed by the housing arrangements and T-shirts sent out by Mr. Sonnenburg* which features a cross-hair logo with the words "ASVS SURVIVOR" on the front and "INSERT SHIV HERE" on the back. That is, until they were informed of a new rule instituted for this year's GSAs: "Those nominees who do not attend the ceremony, for what ever reason, are ineligible to receive an award... so there."

*Chuck will be staying in room 314 at the Raddison Hotel.
