A.S.V.S. Preparatory School "Turning Young Men into Sad-Gits"

Founded in 1997, ASVS Prep is the oldest Sci-Fi debate preparatory school on the Internet. The Prep provides an academically and emotionally demanding environment to approximately 100 young men and women from a diverse spectrum of over 105 countries around the world. The Prep's Mission is to foster the development of the students into mature members of a larger society, who can think clearly and make informed value judgements, who can articulate their own thoughts and accurately interpret the thoughts of others, who can act responsibly with consideration for others and take their place as active members of a pluralistic sadistic society. The Prep recognizes that each person pursues the goal of excellence in terms of his own abilities and limiations, and that each individual bears the primary responsibility for the development of one's talents. The Prep seeks to promote the growth of the whole person by holding each student accountable for his actions, and by recognizing that consequences result from the failure to live up to one's responsibilities and the inevitable ridicule that follows. This is simply preparation for the realities of life and the challenges that lie ahead.

Life at ASVS Prep is a wide-ranging experience. The development of the whole person demands that it be so. The spirit, the mind, and the body look for development and avenues of expresssion. The Prep experience involves Spiritual, Academic, Extracurricular and Athletic activities. The Prep's year-round programs provide outlets for every sort of student expression which is allowed by law.

ASVS Prep students follow a strong debate preparatory program, with four-year requirements in English, Mathematics, Theology,  Star Wars, and Star Trek. After completing a traditional core program during the first two years, students may establish a curriculum geared to their  career plans from a wide selection of courses in Science, History, Language, TGODS, FanFics,  Flamewars, World Domination, and Phys. Ed.

The Prep community proceeds from a belief that growth as a whole person is not limited to secular knowledge but involves the spiritual fulfillment that has been a central concern in its educational tradition. In as much as such growth and maturity are rooted in personal and social responsibility, a code of conduct and expectations is in place to guide the student community in their daily activities and is enforced with draconian ruthlessness.
